Chinese New Year has always been a time of gathering — a season of shared blessings, quiet rituals, and values passed gently from one generation to the next. It is a celebration rooted not in grandeur, but in intention: care shown through everyday acts, traditions, and unspoken understanding.

In Chinese culture, love is rarely loud. Instead of words, it is expressed through actions — through rituals, symbols, and folk art that carry meaning across time. One such expression is the Cloth Tiger (布老虎), often lovingly handmade by parents or grandparents and gifted to children. More than a keepsake, it is a talisman of protection — carrying wishes for safety, courage, wisdom, good health, and strength. A quiet promise of care, stitched with intention and love.

Inspired by this enduring folk art, Kwai Chai Hong proudly presents its 2026 Chinese New Year art installation, Guardians of Legacy（十二福星）.

Drawing from the spirit of the Cloth Tiger, the installation introduces Twelve Zodiac Guardians, each embodying a distinct blessing (祝福) — from courage and resilience to gentleness, harmony, joy, and prosperity. Conceptualised by Kwai Chai Hong’s Co-Founder, Javier Chor, these guardians reflect how the instinct to protect and nurture evolves through time, yet remains rooted in the same universal desire: to watch over the well-being of those we love.

This year’s installation is made even more meaningful through a heartfelt collaboration with Guardian Malaysia — a partnership born from shared values rather than coincidence. For decades, Guardian has been a trusted presence in Malaysian households, caring for families through everyday acts of protection and well-being. In many ways, Guardian represents the modern expression of the same intention behind the Cloth Tiger: safeguarding what matters most, quietly and consistently. It is a meeting of purpose, where care, trust, and legacy intersect.

This Chinese New Year, you are warmly invited to an exclusive 1-hour media preview of Guardians of Legacy（十二福星）to connect with your Guardian, and discover the blessings each Zodiac Guardian carries. Be amongst the first to experience the installation in an intimate setting.

Select one of four available time slots for your dedicated photo and video session, and hear the story behind this creation directly from its creator — straight from the horse’s mouth (pun intended). Each session will be limited to a maximum of 25 guests, ensuring ample space and time for storytelling, visuals, and meaningful engagement.
